Arriving on a bright, sunny day in April, USS Constellation was welcomed to Sydney, Australia like no other port Connie visited during the six-month deployment. 30,000 people lined-up to tour the American aircraft carrier, waiting hours for a chance to peer into her hangar and stroll the flight deck. Meanwhile, Connie sailors headed to the beautiful Australian city to see the sights and meet the friendly people. After the short 48-hour stay, the ship was underway again and head- ing to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, U.S.A.! stellation crewmen (left) lined the while thousands (top left) I ip. The mild climate and beautiful city of Sydney were worth running for (above).
